Week 9 - Mystery Object.

This week Room 4 learners were practicing their research skills to find out information about a well known New Zealander, of their choice, so that they could write a report about them. 

Once each learner felt that they were finished writing and editing their report, they found another learner who was finished to swap writing with.  They then offered each other feedback about their writing and made improvements.

Mystery Object...

Last week there was an interesting new feature in the garden.  This gave the learners another chance to use their research skills to find out about the Mystery Object.

This object was unknown to the learners of Room 4, as no one had encountered one before.  They were able to practice their observation skills and then use their findings to research what the object was using precise key words in a search engine.  

  

Some learners got to the stage where they quickly made a brief poster to show they had correctly identified and named the Giant Puffball.  They were amazed to find out that it was edible, among other facts.
